About LAA

LAA History

The Lindblom Alumni Association (LAA) was founded July 7, 2003 when a few alumni from various graduating years got together in hopes of “maintaining the past, present and future legacy” of all who graduated and attended Robert T. Lindblom High School, which will be the associations ongoing mission. Their discussions were centered around the necessary tasks that had to be accomplished in order to have a functional alumni organization. The immediate tasks at hand were to develop a set of governing by-laws, incorporate as a non-profit organization within the State of Illinois, obtain a federal tax identification number, reserve the official name of the organization and form a Board of Directors.

In 2005, Lindblom was transitioning into another level of academic leadership. The Executive Board and the Board of Directors started their work, seeking to reclaim Lindblom’s ranking position and setting the pace for other schools to follow.

Before year end the Lindblom Alumni Association was awarded their 501c3 not-for-profit status.

LAA Now

The Lindblom Alumni Association (LAA) exists solely to support the curricular and extracurricular activities of Lindblom Math & Science Academy. It is a membership based organization. Membership is available to all former students of any version of Robert T. Lindblom High School, current and former faculty, staff and any individual supportive of the Lindblom and its activities. Membership fees are used exclusively (minus operating expenses) to support the needs of Lindblom.

The LAA was created to provide alumni with a medium to stay in touch with each other, to keep alumni informed of events at the school, and to raise funds to provide financial support which is not provided by the local school board.

A major goal of the LAA is to become the central source of all alumni information and activities. As the Alumni Association grows and membership numbers increase, our goal is for classes to use the LAA website to post class meetings, reunion information, class representative information, locate classmates and more.

The LAA depends on your support to fulfill our purposes such as supporting various school activities, awarding scholarships to students and maintaining alumni communication.
